Sun Valley

Last weekend we went to Sun Valley for the annual bar conference. We got there Wednesday around 8pm, unloaded, made the kids a sandwich and then went for a walk with Grandpa and Grandma.

Thursday the kids were supposed to sleep in from going to bed late Wed, but they were up before 8am. After some cartoons and relaxation, we were finally ready for our day around noon. We had some lunch with Travis and then he headed to the golf course while I took the kids to the pool. After the pool, I took the kids back to the room for some quiet time. I actually got Braiden to take a nap by telling him if he would lay still with his eyes closed for 30 minutes I would turn on the TV for him. There were about 5 minutes left when I was sure that he had fallen asleep. I can't even remember the last time he actually took a nap(besides the car and that doesn't happen often either). I got in some great reading time and must say that it was a little strange knowing both of my kids were asleep and quiet. Travis and I went for a little run when he got back from golfing. Grandpa and Braiden got in some chess and Brooklynn stayed while we were gone. We only went two miles, but it wasn't fun at all. That night we had a picnic dinner with a carnival and movie for the kids. We were a little late getting there due to our run, so the kids didn't get to enjoy much of the carnival. They did get their faces painted and got to play in the bounce house.

Friday the kids did sleep in a little later so that was nice. We had lunch with Travis in between his classes and the golf tournament and then the kids and I took the long way back to the room. Braiden rode his bike while I pushed Brooklynn in the stroller. We walked down to the lake (they call it a lake, but it's very small) to see the paddle boats and then went past the ice rink on the way back. Brooklynn napped while Braiden played and I read and worked on pictures. We went and had some dinner with Grandma and then when Travis and Grandpa got back we went to the ice cream social. Afterwards, we took the kids back and let them watch a movie before bed.

Saturday morning Travis and I got up early and did a 3 mile fun run. It was pretty cold and there were only about 12 of us that ran. Travis went to more classes and then we all headed to the pool. We had dinner and hung out with Grandpa and Grandma and then put the kids to bed.

Sunday we got up and got things ready to go. Travis passed up another round of golf to go to the pool with us. After the pool we went back and loaded up the car. We grabbed some sandwiches, rented a bike trailer and a tag along and took the kids for a bike ride. After getting back, we headed home. The kids were pretty good in the car except for Brooklynn puked about 45 minutes before we got to Sun Valley and then had a melt down about 30 minutes before we got home. It was a pretty good vacation with lots of relaxation.
I put the pictures in a slide show because their were so many, although I probably should have taken a few more scenic pictures.

Happy 24th!!

Last night we took the kids to the RSL game for the fireworks afterwards. They sat nice and still almost the first half and then we lost them. A great reminder of why we don't take them. Don't mind the crappy pictures I only had my point and shoot with me.

I'm really not sure why he is looking at Travis like that, but it makes me laugh. He was running and must have been rolling down the hill in front of us. The grass was wet and soon so was he.

Kendall seemed to like the fireworks.

Brooklynn on the other hand doesn't like the noise at all. They were shot off just across the street and were almost above us. Whenever I let go of her she would turn over and not watch them anymore.

It was a great firework show. They were pretty constant almost 2 together the whole time and they lasted almost 20 minutes. The fireworks were really echoing and it sounded pretty cool. The video doesn't do the sound or color justice, but thought I would share it anyway. I was trying to turn Brooklynn over at the end and missed the last few. I'm not sure if Brooklynn went along with me a the end saying yeah because she did like them or because she was glad they were over.

Kaiden 6 Months

I don't have a whole lot of time for words, but here they are finished. Thank goodness I have such cute nephews and nieces.

Kaiden 6 Months

We took Kaiden out for a few pictures last week. Here's one I thought I would share while I'm editing. It makes me laugh. Where did that look come from?

More Baby Rachel

I didn't get much done on my computer with the Holiday weekend, but I did finish up this sweet little ones pictures today. It was good to see you guys. Thanks for letting me take your pictures.

Here is the announcement. Let me know what you think.

Here's one of little Rachel's cousins. They came with when we did the photo shoot and kept my kids company. When we were done, we tried to get one of all three of them and it didn't happen. I did get this cute one while I was testing my lighting and waiting for baby Rachel.

In a week...

Here's some of what we've been up to this past week. The pictures are not all that that great, but it's about all I can get from my kids lately. Our week started off early last Wednesday with Braiden's last day of soccer camp. It was the only time I took my camera and was hoping to get some good shots of him playing soccer, but instead they had a water fight.

I missed the good action before this next one because a little boy walked in between us, but if you click on it you can see the water dripping of off Braiden. He got half of the garbage can of water dumped on him.

That afternoon I took the kids up to the aquarium. We haven't been for a very long time and Brooklynn hadn't ever been.

Braiden had had enough of my picture taking so he's pulling the major fake smile(if you can even call it a smile, probably not), but I had to include this picture, because I thought it looked awesome. The background is just the painting on the wall.

Smiles are just way to much to ask for...

I really haven't been able to capture any great pictures of Braiden's T-Ball games yet, but I think these are somewhat ok. I would've love to be a little fly on his shoulder and hear what these guys were talking about. Braiden's a little talker, takes after his Grandpa I guess.

Looking over at us knowing he shouldn't be climbing on the fence.

Braiden does everything with his tongue out...

I think this was the last hit of the game. Braiden ran out and got the ball. After getting it they just sat there talking about who knows what. Braiden was probably bragging about getting the ball. It probably wasn't that long, but it seem like a good minute or so that they just sat there talking.

Grandpa and Grandma came down to the game and came over to the house. We decided it was a good time to try and get Braiden over his fear of riding his bike anywhere but the grass. We got him riding in the backyard over Memorial Day weekend, but has freaked out anytime we talk about him riding it on the sidewalk or the street. It took some work and some battle wounds on Grandpa, but after about 15 minutes, he was riding like a pro.

Grandpa's battle wounds...

Here is a video of Braiden riding. Don't mind Brooklynn throwing a fit. She was mad at me because I wouldn't let her have the camera to take pictures.

Here's Brooklynn on the porch pouting. I do not normally reward my kids when they are acting like this, but I wanted to see her response when I asked her if she wanted a cookie. Do you think she let me get away without giving it to her?

A picture of Brooklynn with her cookie after her fit.

(Thanks for the pictures Grandma.)

Monday we went with some friends to the pool. I really didn't pull out my camera until we were about ready to leave. Not long after I pulled it out, they had to kick everyone out of the pool to clean up after someone. Hello crypto. The reason I didn't buy a season pass to the pool this year. You have to love Brooklynn's sunscreen hair in this one.

Don't know what my child is doing...

The boys waiting to get back in the pool, although we decided just to get in the other pool and then leave. I'm not sure I want to take my chances with the pool this year after the major outbreak last year.
