Awesome snow, not so nice wind!

I really can't say enough about how great the snow was today. I was in powder that was up to and over my knees in some places. It was almost the perfect day. The wind was crazy up top and at the bottom of the upper lift, but ok in between. It did get better as the day went on. The wind wasn't fun, but it was totally worth it!! You can hear the wind and see the snow blowing in this first video.

If you can't understand him, he was telling me that he went down without his Edgie Wedgie and he's going to do it again. He skiied without it all day. The last run we skiied to the Truck instead of taking the shuttle. He ended up in some powder that was almost up to his knees in a few spots. He thought it was pretty funny. He was giggling the whole time. I'm not sure why but he jumps everyonce in a while. It's kind of funny. You can see it in the next video.

Butterfly Wings!

I probably shouldn't even post these, because we're going to do this again. I'm not happy with how the lighting and color ended up. I put them in sepia and made some of the shadows disappear so they look a little better. I'm only posting them because she is so cute!!!!

Hot Dog!!

I think we've got a hot little skier on our hands now. If Braiden keeps improving at the same pace he might be better then his dad after the next 3 lessons. Braiden learned how to turn at his lesson last week. He makes me a little nervous because I think he gets going to fast, but he is really doing well. With the inversion the skiing was great. I decided to wear a back pack and take my camera with me this time (since I actually have it). I think these shots made it well worth it.

The next one is in Provo Canyon on the way back home...

You can only take so many pictures of the kid skiing, so I decided to do them black and white this time. I'm going to take the point and shoot again this week and use it to do a video clip. Then you can see him in action.

Snow Dog

After having a rough night last night and a rough start this morning, I was extreemly excited when I got my good news today...

My camera is back. Yeah!! I was hoping it wouldn't take as long as they said, but I was preparing myself for the worst. In celebration (and because of the new foot of snow), I decided that I would take Braiden out to make a snowman. The snow wasn't that great for building a snowman, so we ended up with a snow dog.

Sledding Fun

Being without my camera is kind of a good thing. I have been able to catch up on my personal pictures and get some other things done. Here are some pictures from our sledding trips so far this winter.

We bought Brooklynn an infant sled. She loves it. Honestly, she can't get enough! She giggles all the way down. These first ones are from the first time we went back in December. We got up there and realized that Braiden didn't get his coat. I let him wear mine and I just took pictures. How sad, I know.

When we went the second time it was so cold. I think it was about 12 degrees outside. I ended up putting my neck warmer on Brooklynn to try and keep her covered.

We didn't last very long. When Brooklynn and I went back to the truck I asked her if she had fun? She said, "Yes, fun." I asked her what she did and she said "weeee." That's what she was saying in this next picture.

I think we only went for about an hour and then warmed up with some hot chocolate and headed back home.

These last ones are from just over a week ago. Grandpa, Grandma and Kathleen came down and went sledding with us. (Side note - Kathleen made the kids their hats.)

Brooklynn had a run in with the gate and got a bloody nose. She was a little hesitant to go again, but she did after a little while and she still couldn't get enough. Little sad face...

These last pictures are really not that great. There just wasn't enough light for the point and shoot. Can't wait to get my camera back. It could still be a whole month away. :(

What were you doing at 4 A.M.?

Probably sleeping? Well not Brooklynn. She woke up crying at about 2:45 this morning. Me being more asleep than awake told Travis to just get her and bring her into our bed. She wanted something to drink. I think I went to get it, but maybe not. I was so out of it I couldn't even tell you. She had her water and was laying in between us. The next thing I know she is waking us up and asking Travis to help her put her PJ's back on. It was now 4 A.M. I think I remember her getting off the bed, but I have no idea when. She had shut our door and was limited to our room so I guess that's good. She went through her clothes waiting to be folded and found a pair of her favorite leggings and put them on. She turned the TV on. Had a toy on the floor and who knows what else. I had the camera sitting by the bed from putting the skiing pictures on the computer so I figured why not document it. Here she is after I put back on her jammy top, she wouldn't let me take off her leggings.

This would be after I told her she was going back to her own bed. She wasn't too happy with me.

Here is what she wanted to do...

She is saying Elmo's World with some major fake crying if you can't understand her. Needless to say, I won!!! She went to bed shortly after with a fight. Hopefully she takes a long nap today!

Cold!!

At least I was. Braiden had his second ski lesson yesterday. It was so cold that they stopped about 30 mins before they were supposed to be done with their lessons. I went in about 15 mins after they did. For how cold it was I think I actually stayed pretty warm. My toes and fingertips were just getting a little cold, but it was only 14 degrees when we got there. After warming up a little I went and got Braiden. He was all warmed up and ready to go again.I told him we could go once more. He wasn't too happy about it, but he didn't say anything about going again when we got to the bottom. He said he didn't get cold at all. Anyway, here are some pictures from the top and a few from the chair lift on the last run.!

Sweet Emilee

Ok, Alyssa they finally made it. This is really sad. I took these pictures in November the day of Harrison's blessing. I guess they weren't the main event that day and I kept forgetting about them when something else came up. I'm really not sure why and I'm sorry. Forgive me please?

Harrison 3 Months

Before going to the temple, I stopped by my sister's house to take Harrison's 3 month pictures. He was tired and really not interested in pictures, but I think we still got some cute ones.

I like the last one, but it might be a little grainy. I'm thinking I didn't do that great of a job setting up the camera and I probably should have moved him in a different spot to better us the natural light. Hopefully you like one of these, let me know? Thanks again Amy!!!

Oh yeah, one of these days I might post some pictures from Christmas. I guess if I'm without my camera for a month I might even be able to get caught up. Hopefully!!

Kyle's Trip to the Temple

My baby brother went to the temple on Tuesday night. He leaves at the end of February to serve in the London, England South Mission. Thanks to my photographer friend, Amy, for letting me borrow her camera so I could get these pictures.

We went out to eat at the Olive Garden afterwards. Braiden loves going out to eat and he likes ordering his own food. Our kids ate at Grandpa and Grandma's while we were at the temple so I figured if they were hungry they could just have some salad and bread sticks. While the waitress was taking our orders, she asked Braiden if she could take his menu. He said "but, I haven't decided what I want yet" and started reading the menu to make his decision. We ate our salad and a few minutes after our dinner came Braiden came down to us and wasn't too happy about not being able to order his pizza. I could see that he needed to go to the bathroom and told Travis to take him. He asked me if I would order his pizza for him so he could have it when he got back. Kyle ordered a pizza and was nice enough to give Braiden a piece so when he got back from the bathroom he thought I took care of him.

By the time we got to the Olive Garden it had to be at least 9:30 and since by kids go to bed around 8:00 Brooklynn was a little tired. She didn't want to be anywhere but Grandma's lap. I think she may have gotten her to sit in the high chair, but it wasn't for very long. I couldn't get her to even sit in the chair and she wouldn't sit on my lap without throwing a fit. After we were done eating she was covering my moms face with her hair and playing peek-a-boo.
