A New Hat

I bought Brooklynn this hat the other day. She pulled it out of the bag this morning and insisted on wearing it. She wore it almost all day. It's a little big, but not too bad. I took these pictures during lunch and trust me you would've known if I wouldn't have touched up her face and taken all the peanut butter off.

Happy Birthday Dad & Emilee!!!

Spring Soccer

We wanted to sign Braiden up for soccer in the fall, but missed registration. We made sure we didn't miss it this time. His first game was yesterday. He had a lot of fun, but was a little overwhelmed I think. He was a little hesitant, but he did end up kicking the ball a few times.
I'm not sure if it's this way everywhere, but they have games on Tuesdays and Saturdays and then practices on Thursdays. That's 3 times a week. His last game is in a April 29. I'm not sure what the rush it, but it's going to make one crazy month. Here are few pictures...

One last one of little sister showing her support. I noticed once during the game that she was clapping, but I think it was because of the people clapping at the game behind us. She actually stayed put in the chair the whole game. Let's hope she does that every week!

If you are interested in coming to any of his games (family), they are Tuesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 8am. Let me know!!!

One Expensive Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend and are glad we were able to spend it with our Family. Here are the kids in their Easter outfits...

Ok, so I'm sure you want to know why our weekend was a little pricey. Well it all started on Saturday. (Sorry no pictures for this one.)

Expense #1 - I will not go into great details. It was a nice Saturday afternoon and Travis wanted to go for a bike ride. He went in to put his wedding ring in the bathroom cupboard and that's not where it ended up. Braiden was taking care of some business when it happened and asked if he could finish before we went fishing. We told him not to flush, but while I went to help Travis find the fishing gear, we heard the flush. Ahhh!!! Braiden felt terrible and he didn't mean to so we of course couldn't get mad. I don't think I will ever forget the look on his face as we walked back into the bathroom. For the next 20 mins I kept asking him how and why he did it and he finally said, "Mom if you stop talking about it you will forget about it."

Ok, on to our weekend. Easter morning, the kids got up and found their baskets and then we got ready and headed up to Ogden. My dad and my brother were speaking in Church. Braiden read a talk he gave in Primary to my dad about the Savior and my dad asked him if we wanted to come talk with him. He said yes and so Braiden gave his first talk in Sacrament meeting at age 5. He did a great job and he really didn't get that nervous. Here is a picture of him reading his talk to the family members that couldn't make it to Sacrament meeting.

After church we went to my sister's house and had our annual Easter egg hunt. Brooklynn loved it. She got a good amount of eggs for how many times she stopped. I think stopped at least three different times to empty this egg. She likes Cookie Crisp!

This is probably the only time Braiden stopped while he was finding eggs and it was to show me that he found an egg with money.

After the Easter egg hunt, the kids went back to playing and I took some pictures for my sister.
Expense #2 - My brother-in-law came out and told me that he didn't think my son had a palm anymore. At first I thought he was joking around and then my brain processed what he said. I went in to Braiden screaming in the kitchen and my mom and sister trying to get him to calm down. It was pretty intense!
The kids had turned on the treadmill downstairs and I guess Braiden thought he could run 10 mph, but I guess he's not as fast as he thought. It's an older treadmill with a slider for the speed and he just slid it all the way over. I'm sure he had no idea what he was really getting himself into.
Because we couldn't get him to calm down, we decided to take him to an Instacare. He ended up with a raw spot on his hand and a few more scrapes, but he is just fine. I don't want to see the final bill for this one.
Even though this kid cost us a little more than we would have liked this weekend, I wouldn't trade him for anything and I'm glad he is ok. We were really lucky because things could have ended up a lot worse.
Here are some pictures from tonight while we were changing his bandages. It has already closed up a lot and is healing nicely. It's a little gross so beware and don't say I didn't warn you.

All wrapped up and ready for bed...

I think this is one weekend we will never forget! I hope yours was memorable in a much different way.

Spring Fever!!!!

I am in LOVE with spring...

but not for the flowers...

for the Spring Skiing!!!

Braiden and I went skiing today. Awww, I just can't say enough about how awesome it was. Thank you to my sister and my mom for watching Brooklynn. We were skiing just before noon and we closed down the mountain. Our neighbors came with us and the boys had a blast.

warning the next one is a little scary, but you get it anyway...

Taking a break and having a cookie. While we were sitting here, the boys were looking at a map of the resort and decided that they wanted to go on the "black diamond." We had them all geared up to go on the back mountain(of course not really on a black diamond) and headed back to the lift. We didn't realize when we got on the lift that it was 4:oopm and the back mountain was closed. We figured it out when we got up to the top and had to get off. Bummer, next time boys.

One more playing around with textures...

(You can see the texture on the flowers, but on this one you might have to click on it and make it big to see the full effect.)

Spring Sledding

This is seriously the best time of year! Not too cold and you still get to enjoy the snow. Our neighbor called us Monday morning and said she was taking her kids up sledding so I took the kids up for the afternoon. It was so nice and warm and the kids had a blast. We ended up being up there for about 4 hours. It was probably a little too long considering we were there all through Brooklynn's normal nap time. Here are a few pictures...

These are the neighbors that live behind us. Braiden and Max throw balls, Frisbees or whatever they can over the fence to each other. In fact we have their football sitting in the middle of the backyard right now. Brooklynn has to look out her bedroom window and say goodnight to them almost every night. The kids are really close in age and have a lot of fun together.

Moab

We went to Moab last weekend to run. Travis and I, two of my sisters, my dad and my brother in law all ran in the 5 mile race. A big Thanks to my mom and sister for watching our kids. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

We were walking by the awards table and saw the PR pins and figured we might as well get some. After I gave one to my sister she asked jokingly if she won an award. So for fun, we checked the list. Her and Travis both ran in just under 40 and to our surprise she took first in her age division and he took 4th.

After the race we met up with some friends from Spokane. We went to eat and then headed into Arches. We took the kids to Sand Dune Arch, but it was cold so we didn't stay for very long. When it hot outside it's a great place to go and cool off. I didn't have my camera set very good so the pictures inside didn't turn out that great except for this one.

Here's one of Travis goofing off on the way back to the car. It actually turned out pretty cool.

The next day we hiked up to the Delicate Arch with my sister, her husband and their little one. It was nap time and Brooklynn got a good one. Good thing she still only weighs 21lbs.

Not that great of a picture, the kids were ready to go.

The Delicate Arch...

and another one on the way out from Sand Dune Arch.

Yep, another Baby!

It's been a little while, but I'm back. I think I have had more going on the last month then I did over the Holidays. We were out of town last weekend (pictures soon I hope) and I was hoping to get to these while I was gone, but there really wasn't time. I was almost able to finish tonight so I thought I would show this cute kid off. I worked with his Mom for about 5 years. She is a tiny little thing and I was really in shock when she told me he was just over 9lbs. Even if he was 9lbs, he seems so little to me.

Happy Birthday!!!!

I can't believe it, but my baby is two today. We celebrated with family yesterday. She loved opening presents and her cake, although she wasn't too sure about us all singing to her. We were able to go nice and slow with the presents and she had to put on half of what she opened. The socks in the first pictures were given to her and it's hard to tell in the pictures, but after she opened the big girl pants she had to put them on and then wouldn't put her pants back on.

And here is a cute picture I took last month. It's got to be one of my favorites. I think I will print it big one of these days.
